I)Singing “Ear Training”
A. Solos / Scales/ Intervals, etc. Various Exercises :
1. In Major scale:

B. Students Sing Great Jazz Solos 1) Mimi Sings Prez’ “I Never Knew “ Gordon, Roger and others also sing
II) ”Playing by Ear is Really Playing by Mind” Adolph Sandole
A. Listening to recording of “Salute to the Bandbox”; Harmonic and Motific Analyses of “Bandbox”Melody.
1. We learn the line “phrase by phrase by ear”while the”mind” puts it together
2. As we learn it we take selected phrases from the melody and use this process to play them in different keys and in several “Symetrical Intervalic Combinations.”
I call this technique: "Getting Beyond Transposing.”
III.) Harmonic Voice Leading
A. Students Play Their “Homework” of Voice Leading Lines on “Another You” and/or “Out of Nowhere,” or I’ll Remember April.”
Master musician and teacher of all that is Jazz, Bob Mover, leads this workshop and masterclass while instructors Isaac Raz from Whole Music LLC & Jazz guitarist Gary Pierce assist.
This is MUST HAVE for all musicians, ESPECIALLY if you want to learn to improvise.
